The Third Ring

Narbensang is the third ring of the city of Yarnakth —
and the first one that hurts before it speaks.
After the cool precision of Hirnquell, visitors enter a district
where everything is expression:

The houses are twitching sculptures,
the streets impromptu stages,
and the air itself seems made of pigment and injury.

Here, things are not painted, but sliced.
Not composed, but pressed out —
as if every work of art were an internal organ presenting itself.

“In Narbensang, you are not touched.
You are permeated.”
Lyriq von Lien, last breath
(presumably part of a performance)
